3 Pillars Of Health To Pay Attention To

The “rules” for healthy living can seem rather overwhelming and impossible to follow if you pay attention to everything the media says about achieving the ideal lifestyle. There’s a lot of conflicting information and noise about what’s good or bad for us. There are, however, some things that should not be ignored. These actions are of the utmost importance and you’ll want to understand them. For now, here are just 3 pillars of health to pay attention to.

Pillars Of Health To Pay Attention To #1: Maintain a Healthful Diet

It would be great if certain articles and stories in the media stopped glorifying short-term dieting. We’ve all heard about those super diets that are supposed to help you lose “incredible” amounts of weight in a couple of weeks or less. However, such diets are usually incredibly unhealthy, too. Cutting out junk from your diet is important, but cutting out all the good food from your diet for the sake of “reducing calories” isn’t going to give your body the sustenance it needs. That’s why so many people bounce back to their original unhealthy diets when they realize that these “super diets” can’t sustain them in the long-run.

Instead, maintain one diet on a permanent basis. And if your current diet is unhealthy, aim to get rid of the junk. Eat filling meals with all the nutrients and vitamins that your body needs. Get iron for your energy levels, calcium for strong bones, protein for muscle growth, and so on. Creating a healthy diet is easy if you take the approach that you need “a little bit of everything”. Moderation is crucial. You can even allow yourself the occasional treat if your diet remains healthy and consistent.

Pillars Of Health To Pay Attention To #2: Know Your Mental State

You might see yourself as a physically healthy person, but many people neglect their mental health. Maybe you have a busy life and there’s no time to focus on your thoughts and emotions, but your mental health is just as important as your physical health. Pay attention to the state of your mind. If you’re feeling stressed or anxious, talk to your loved ones about your feelings. Opening up about your mental health is a great way to overcome struggles. You might even consider some energy healers or psychic readers who could give you spiritual guidance. Gaining an empathetic ear from somebody with life experience could be exactly what you need to approach your life in a new way. Just make sure that you don’t ignore the way you feel; check in with yourself on a daily basis. Try deep breathing if you feel stressed or worried. If things get bad, see your doctor.

Pillars Of Health To Pay Attention To #3: Sleep Well

We live in a fast-moving society, and we’ve come to embrace the idea that sleep isn’t as important as productivity. We’re all busy people with a lot of tasks that need to be squeezed into each day, so we often fall just short of the amount of sleep we really need. However, this is more unhealthy for you than you might realize. Sleep deprivation doesn’t just affect your concentration and energy levels; it affects your overall physical and mental health. You’re more prone to depression, anxiety, and stress if your mind isn’t well-rested. Your body’s immune system will also be weaker, so you’re more prone to catching colds or other illnesses (which definitely won’t help with your productivity). You need rest for your body and brain to function properly.

About Kellie R. Stone

"I make no excuses for my diverse roles as a Rock Your Feminine Type Coach™ and Branding Expert, best-selling author, and crime thriller novelist. Yes, I do still chuckle a bit at the irony. I kick ass as a women’s biz coach by day and kill off vulnerable fiction characters at night. What the hell, it makes for some interesting dreams. I believe that everyone should pursue their passions no matter how out there they seem to be. One of those pure heart-fluttering passions for me has always been writing. Since I did, indeed, chase my dream of being a writer, I've published two non-fiction books in the self-development genre, co-authored an international best seller, and now I'm finally pushing my much-too-old-to-be-in-the-nest novel out the door and into the world. My whole world is empowering and I adore showing others how to live life unfiltered, whether I do that through the written word or my coaching work. I love my job!" ~Kellie R. Stone
