Staying at an ideal weight and being toned and fit are both attributes of a quality lifestyle, not a diet or quick fix. Unfortunately, so many impatient women give up on being healthy and opt for fad diets, surgery, invasive procedures, and pills. Your body might look good for a while, but it’s not sustainable if you abuse your body for aesthetic reasons. Remember to consult with your healthcare provider before you start any new eating or exercise plan. In the meantime, consider the following 5 tips to get that badass body you’ve always wanted!
Get That Badass Body #1: Fuel Your Body
Your body is essentially a biological engine. It needs to be well maintained to run smoothly. The wrong type of fuel will slow it down and eventually cause damage. Because everyone is different, what works best for some may not be your thing. Finding the right eating and supplement plan for you will take trial and error. If you still feel you need a boost to lose some extra weight, do research on supplements with natural extracts, like pure Garcinia Cambogia. Keep in mind, things aren’t always as they seem with some so-called “natural” products.
I still stand firm on eating a healthy and balanced diet above anything else! There really is no way around it! My secret fat-burning food arsenal consists of these 10 foods: watermelon, apples, spinach, beets, beans, avocado, berries, grapefruit, and lean poultry.
Get That Badass Body #2: Move Your Ass!
If you want that badass body, you are gonna have to move your ass often! This doesn’t mean doing moves that are too advanced or difficult, though. Stick to your level of fitness and gradually increase your time and difficulty range as you can.
My secret is finding time for mini workouts throughout the week. Dancing in the mirror while brushing your teeth, counter push-ups while you wait for your coffee, walking your dog, taking the stairs, hula hooping with your kids, these are all fabulous ways to get in some quality movement. And, when I want a more serious workout, I go to my DVD stash. I have workouts ranging from 10 to 45 minutes and all ranges of difficulty. I recommend keeping a variety of workouts in your arsenal! My faves are 21 Day Fix, Tae Bo, Calenetics, Plyo, Tae Chi, and simple yoga.
Get That Badass Body #3: Don’t Skip Breakfast
You might be pressed for time in the morning, but skipping breakfast is a bad idea. Remember the fuel thing from above. No fuel, no go. Eating breakfast immediately increases your metabolism, which is great for losing weight. It also makes you less likely to binge on snacky foods before your lunch. Research Studies repeatedly show that people who eat a quality breakfast are more likely to stay at a healthy weight for longer.
Get That Badass Body #4: Fruit is Your Friend
You will never see my kitchen without fresh fruit in it. And, don’t get me started on fresh fruit smoothies! Our bodies thrive on all the quality nutrients, antioxidants, and energy-boosting natural sugars. My favorites are apples and papayas! I use fresh or frozen fruit in my oatmeal, fresh juices, salads, and even in some main dishes.
Some fruits have anti-inflammatory properties as well. Cherries, are one of the best things you can eat if you have gut problems or are trying to lower overall inflammation. Other awesome body-healing fruits include strawberries, blueberries, and pineapple.
Get That Badass Body #5: Get Your Head In the Game
If you want to look and feel your best, having a good positive attitude is a must. I use meditation and visualization to stay on track with my health goals. If I feel myself slipping in the mental or emotional department, I press into the root causes. Trust me, I’m not always in a good place. I have to work at it just like you do.
See yourself as a healthy, fit woman who loves life and takes action on her goals. Even if you don’t feel this woman is present right now, give yourself a big reason to find her. Remember, focus on what you can do right now and do it. Keep yourself motivated with positive quotes and inspirational photos that are specific to your goals. One more thing, don’t ever compare yourself to others and their level of body success. Doing so only sets you up for failure.
