Ahhhhhh summertime! I just love ice clinking in a glass and then adding the lemonade. Wait. I am not done. I would also like a slice of lime, a slice of lemon, a cherry – stem on because it looks so much more decadent that way, and a sliced strawberry. Oh sure…add a slice of orange and some pineapple too. What do you mean, “That’s not lemonade?” It is lemonade…with a twist. Why settle for the glass of JUST lemonade? Lemonade on it’s own is great (for those who like lemonade). For those who would rather have iced tea, well, all of what I just added to the lemonade, add to your tea. Add a splash of mango, maybe a sprig of fresh mint. Why not go all out?!
The Lemonade → Life Connection
This is how I feel about life. I used to go through the day hem hawing around in a blah mood even when there was so much to do and so many people to see. Now I see that each day has it’s own set of obstacles, experiences, chores and new people on the horizon, I have decided to meet my life with a twist. You can take each day with just a swig of something good OR you can top your glass off with some added delight.
Burger King has made a killing in sales with their advertising campaign of “Have it your way!” Why? Because people like things that are made exactly how they desire. BK has fed the masses with the concept of knowing what you want and having it. I know what I want. Sometimes I seems like I am a few steps away and, other times, I am a few miles away from my desires. What about you?
Tombstone (pizza) also knows how to advertise. They want to know what you want on your tombstone. Not your grave marker. Your pizza. And I would like the pepperoni, extra cheese and some onion, green pepper and mushroom…Oooooh add some bacon and spinach too. Yeah…I want more than pepperoni.
The Beauty of Experience
The magazines are full of glamour, glitz, color, fashion trends, brand names and pretty smiles. You do not have to copy everything you see, but you can go through them and know what you don’t want or do want to try. It’s a great way to get to know yourself better.
How do you know if you would like something unless you try it? Extra fruits in your drink might be a wonderful new way to enjoy a simple act of quenching your thirst. Maybe the sprig of mint was too much? Maybe the extra cheese, too fancy? But the experience of finding out is the magnificent part of life so many miss.
Try new things! Do not just settle for the same experiences just because you always have. Experience life to the fullest! Experience Life with a Twist, and don’t forget to add some fruit to your lemonade once in a while. You won’t be sorry!
