See the Seen

What I mean is…. there are MANY things in life that we look at. We have looked at them so much, it becomes second nature to ignore them. For instance:  The clouds… We know they are there most days so we do not take in the different shapes that could be talking to us. A dragon, an angel, a dog chasing a mouse. Yes, you read it correctly. A dog. Clouds don’t care! Then you have the vast array of stars you may have glanced at a few weeks or months ago, but with all your business, you have been looking forward and not very often up.

I looked up last night and found thousands and thousands of diamonds crying out for attention! I just stared in wonder at the beauty of them all. Big dipper, little dipper. Orion’s belt. The North Star. We looked for them as kids.  Have you looked at how big the moon is? With our naked eye, so many things are seen but not admired even though we may have once admired them a lot.

I would like to turn your attention to the people around you now. See the seen. Are you forgetting to thank someone today whom you used to thank for their presence or friendship? Is there someone there for you in your good and bad times you have not taken a moment to appreciate lately? Has it become second nature to just expect that they will be always there?

If I am not careful, I take people for granted. And the things and people I have delighted in (like the beauty of a butterfly) may not always be there. After so long of paying attention to someone or something, somehow we forget to look up and take notice that they are still there for us. Those things and people around us do not depreciate in value just because we do not stop in a moment to see them.

Wouldn’t it be nice if we opened our eyes to a new day, realizing the beauty and gifts may not always be there? This is truly a new way of seeing things.  They become amazing again! And that is how they should always be. Surround yourself with the amazing. The beauty. The wonder within the life around you should never die!

I encourage you to take time to see what you have already seen. Only now, maybe see with a more attentive eye what is right in front of you. What or whom have you not seen lately?

About Karin Rochelle

My desire is to reach out to women with three goals in mind. Encourage. Enlighten. Engage. I also carry these desires into my music. This year I hope to expand my horizons not just for myself, but for those around me. I would like to encourage women to build each other up, to take risks and focus on goals and succeed in the challenges of everyday life. Nothing is too hard to accomplish with a support system. I want to enlighten or reconnect them to concepts they hold dear but have fallen away from, teaching how to make wiser decisions that not only focus on personal well being but that of mankind.
