Spring Has Sprung! The Re-Birth of YOU!

By Mary Pritchard

As I sit in my backyard in the sunshine and take in the sight of the blooming trees, I think to myself: finally. Finally, Spring is here, the flowers are starting to bloom and the rain has taken a brief respite.

Spring is my favorite season. It’s the time of the year when we focus on birth, life, blossoming into the women we were meant to be. So as Kellie recently awaited the birth of her first grandchild, I await the birth of me.

Like many women I know, 2013 was a difficult year. My 2013 was marred by a divorce, move, breaking my heel for the second time in a year, and turning 40. Not much to celebrate on the surface. But then I realized something. 2013 was my year of letting go. The year I needed to throw it all away. Because what I thought was keeping me grounded was really dragging me down, preventing me from being the woman I was born to be.

2014 is the year of me. It’s my time and this is the season. Ladies – Winter is over. It’s time to come out of hibernation and focus on birthing You.

But how do you do that? Ever make a vision board?

I’ve seen this done a variety of ways; some women use construction paper, others buy poster board; I once used an empty file folder because it was all I had on hand when the mood struck. Next get some old magazines, newspapers, whatever you have on hand that has words and pictures on it. If you can spend an entire afternoon or evening on the project, that’s great. If not, break it out into chunks. Look for pictures and words that represent your life as you’d like it to be.

If you were starting your own business, you might put the words “Abundance” and “Prosperous” on your board along with images of successful women or a dress you’ll buy when you get your first paycheck. If you wanted a child, you might put a picture of an infant. If you want to make more time for self-care, you might put the word “ease” or “relaxation” along with a picture of a woman taking a bubble bath.

You get the idea. The key is: dream big. This is supposed to represent everything you want in life, so don’t hold back. Once you’ve gotten your pictures and words, just paste them however you’d like onto your board. Some women cut and paste as they go; others like to have all (or at least most) of their images and words chosen before they put the board together. Then, and this is essential, hang your vision board somewhere that you will see it every day—the more often you see it, the better. If your board relates to starting a new business, you might hang it in your office. If it has to do with relaxing, put it in the bathroom. If you’re not home much, put it in your car. The important thing is you have to see it and see it often for your dreams to reach your Soul and start to come true.

What will you bring forward in 2014?

About Kellie R. Stone

"I make no excuses for my diverse roles as a Rock Your Feminine Type Coach™ and Branding Expert, best-selling author, and crime thriller novelist. Yes, I do still chuckle a bit at the irony. I kick ass as a women’s biz coach by day and kill off vulnerable fiction characters at night. What the hell, it makes for some interesting dreams. I believe that everyone should pursue their passions no matter how out there they seem to be. One of those pure heart-fluttering passions for me has always been writing. Since I did, indeed, chase my dream of being a writer, I've published two non-fiction books in the self-development genre, co-authored an international best seller, and now I'm finally pushing my much-too-old-to-be-in-the-nest novel out the door and into the world. My whole world is empowering and I adore showing others how to live life unfiltered, whether I do that through the written word or my coaching work. I love my job!" ~Kellie R. Stone
