4 Simple Ways To Feel And Look Younger

There comes the point in every woman’s life when the first signs of aging show up. Perhaps it’s a few glistening gray strands, or those smile lines that once disappeared are now a permanent fixture on your face. Though these unpleasant signs of growing older are common, it doesn’t mean we have to allow them to beat us down or change our opinion of ourselves. Regardless of what your specific signs of aging are, here are some simple ways to feel and look younger.

Accept Yourself As You Are

Self-acceptance is an essential part of mental health at any age. That said, women are exposed to negative messages, implying that looking young is better than aging naturally. Unfortunately, spending too much time preoccupied with appearance and in constant pursuit of looking younger will likely leave you dissatisfied with your looks no matter what you do.

Instead, consider working on accepting who you are right now, including how you look and all that aging encompasses. There are many ways to do this, but the primary one is to be grateful for your life and the fact that you have made it to the age you are. Loving yourself on this unconditional level helps you to maintain a healthy outlook on the present moment and your future.

Take Care of Yourself

While being obsessed with obtaining a younger-looking face and body can hurt your self-esteem, it doesn’t mean you shouldn’t take care of yourself. Nourishing your skin and body on a daily basis is a foundational way to stay healthy and young-looking.

Staying healthy requires us to pay attention to body, mind, and spirit. First, eating a balanced diet and exercising are both crucial if you want to feel and look younger. It’s important to figure out what works for you and your lifestyle if you plan to stick with it for life. And, trust me, consistency is the key to getting the kind of results that make a difference in how you look and feel now and in the future.

Taking care of your hearing and eyesight is also crucial for feeling young. After all, if you’re not seeing and hearing well, you will miss a critical part of communicating efficiently with those around you. Get regular eye exams, as well as an annual hearing test to identify any potential issues that could worsen as you age. It is far better to address any problems with your eyesight and hearing now, rather than waiting until they deteriorate.

Keep Learning

Continuing to learn and grow as a woman is an excellent way to stay sharp and mentally young. This, in turn, helps you to keep up with modern culture and the world around you. Simply understanding what a younger generation is focused on will help you stay young at heart. Going to different places, trying new things, and mixing up your routine also helps to fulfill your life, leaving less room for regret, negativity, and worry about aging.

Have Fun

Ever heard the phrase, “laughter is the best medicine?” Well, it turns out there may be some truth to it. Having fun and being happy not only makes you feel good but releases certain chemicals in your body. These “feel good” chemicals can actually help you live longer and improve your current state of health. Doing things like participating in hobbies, nurturing relationships, and having an active social life are excellent ways to help you feel and look younger now.

Researchers have found a link between a positive mood and the reduction of serious health conditions such as coronary heart disease, obesity, and mental illness. While this is still an emerging area of study, and open to debate, there’s certainly no harm in keeping a positive outlook on life by having some fun.

Feeling and looking young will continue to be a concern for the majority of modern women. And though I don’t condone obsessing over this goal, I do know that taking care of ourselves is imperative for health and overall wellness. Therefore, adopt the practices that make you feel good about yourself every day as you walk gently into your future. Be well, my friends!

About Kellie R. Stone

"I make no excuses for my diverse roles as a Rock Your Feminine Type Coach™ and Branding Expert, best-selling author, and crime thriller novelist. Yes, I do still chuckle a bit at the irony. I kick ass as a women’s biz coach by day and kill off vulnerable fiction characters at night. What the hell, it makes for some interesting dreams. I believe that everyone should pursue their passions no matter how out there they seem to be. One of those pure heart-fluttering passions for me has always been writing. Since I did, indeed, chase my dream of being a writer, I've published two non-fiction books in the self-development genre, co-authored an international best seller, and now I'm finally pushing my much-too-old-to-be-in-the-nest novel out the door and into the world. My whole world is empowering and I adore showing others how to live life unfiltered, whether I do that through the written word or my coaching work. I love my job!" ~Kellie R. Stone
