“The future is not a result of choices among alternative paths offered by the present, but a place that is created–created first in the mind and will, created next in activity. The future is not some place we are going to, but one we are creating.”
Can we really create our own futures? My short answer to that is…yes. The long one follows.
Have you ever been so worried about something happening that it consumes your mind and controls your actions? Well, if you have, you know that this behavior can drive you nearly crazy with fear as you anticipate the worse. In contrast, when you think about (with all your emotion) a beautiful event happening, the bliss has already started; your enjoyment (joy) is present before the actual occurrence of which you are dreaming. How is this possible?
Reality vs. Fantasy
Your mind makes it real. Actually, it doesn’t separate the “real” from the fictional. It all registers the same. That is why it is so important to think about good things. But don’t worry if you slip and have the occasional “bad” thought; it’s not going to manifest some monster. The kind of “creation of future” I’m talking about is done with intense, emotional coupling with thought. It takes practice. Some of us are quite good at it already; we are just dwelling on the wrong things, so we’re “creating” the wrong futures.
I’ve talked about this before, but I wanted to share it again as I’ve been “practicing” more myself lately. There are many things I want to improve about my life; this is the way. The more you believe it, the more you will see come to pass.
On the Spiritual Side
Great power is behind this kind of self-improvement. No matter what you call this all encompassing being, trust that he, she, and it is at work. Acknowledging that we are a part of something bigger, empowers us to expand our minds and hearts to explore endless possibilities. It is our nature. When you join your heart to Spirit and to creation, you are setting the stage for the production of your life – the one that you are writing, directing, and starring in. Making the decision to seek this powerful connection is yours. No one can tell you what to do in this area; you must choose it for yourself.
What is in your future? What are you creating with your thoughts? Please share your comments, encouragement, and ideas with WLL readers (and me)! I love to hear from all of you beautiful women!
I needed to read this. Thank you!
We all need to work on seeing some positive things in our futures.
Kellie, this is so true and so BASIC.; indeed so totally Biblical! Let’s all help each other with this.
