In simple terms stress can be defined as the body’s response to the demands put on it. Furthermore, it has no boundaries or rules; everyone responds to it differently. What is stressful to me may not be to you and visa-versa. That is why you always think Aunt Mary is overreacting when the family arrives at her home late for dinner. Deviating from her plans is a stressor for Mary but may not be for the rest of the family. So, we really have no right to tell someone that any specific situation should not be stressful. This is one of those to each his own scenarios.
Since it’s the beginning of a new year, I thought it might be a good time to identify some stressors in my life. I came up with the following:
• Excessive noise and confusion
• Being overwhelmed with housework
• Feeling uninformed about something
• Headaches
It’s a short list…thank God. For the most part I stay calm and positive about the events of my life. However, the above four things can send me to the moon with erratic behavior if I don’t get the chance to remove myself from them. These stressors are serious for me. But by identifying them, I have the upper-hand at prevention. Go ahead and give yourself five minutes to pin-point your stressors. Don’t forget to write them down. When you’ve done that, you can try harder to avoid them or at least minimize them.
This self-improvement step is important for busy women as we have so much on our plates most of the time. Give yourself time to process what you discover. Meditate or pray about how you can reduce the stress in your life. Be well-be beautiful.

I saw the title of this when I clicked over here and had to read it. It’s a great reminder to think about what our stressors are. I need to spend some time making a list too. Sometimes, I don’t even realized I’m stressed until after the fact. Which doesn’t do much good when dealing with whatever is stressful… lol.

This is a good thing to do with your children too. They can have many stressors that we may not think about. I’m working with my son right now on some de-stressing techniques.
