5 Simple Ways To Improve Your Life And Be Happier

Making simple changes can be the most effective way to improve your life. When you make minor adjustments to your daily habits, the shift in your happiness and health can be fast and long-lasting. This happens because small changes don’t disrupt your life as much as trying to make huge shifts too quickly. There are many simple ways to improve your life and be happier, but I recommend choosing things that support your goals and passions.  Doing things that inspire joy and health will be easier to incorporate and stick to. Here are some suggestions to get you started.

Eat Healthfully

The first thing you can do to improve your life is to eat more healthfully. This doesn’t mean you need to stop eating the foods you love. I believe in finding a balance that serves your goals and lifestyle. Again, making small changes can set you on a serving path toward your goals.

For instance, instead of getting fast food for lunch, try making a healthy sandwich or salad at home. Look at the different types of eating plans that promote a healthful lifestyle like the Mediterranean diet or a macrobiotic lifestyle. It doesn’t have to be about cutting calories either, unless you want to lose weight; it is about making good food choices that support your physical and mental health.

Exercise Daily

Exercise is a superior way to boost your mood, sleep better, and improve your physical health. Movement helps you release endorphins that help you feel happy and motivated to be authentic and confident. And studies have shown that women who exercise do have higher self-esteem and social support.

A great way to start a solid fitness plan is to move for 10 minutes a day. You can do anything from walking around the block or some yoga poses. Though you might be tempted to do more, remember that even short sessions will help you build stamina and feel better throughout the day. Once you get used to 10 minutes a day, gradually work your way up to longer sessions and more advanced exercises.

Learn Something New Every Day

Learning something new every day is an incredible way to expand your knowledge, exercise your brain, and improve your life. This can be as simple as reading an article on a topic you’re interested in or watching a video tutorial on making a new dish you’ve wanted to try. It doesn’t have to cost anything either, so there is no reason to say no! It might not seem like much, but it’s essential to keep learning and growing to remain sharp and full of life energy.

Change What You Can

It’s true that we all have things in our lives that we don’t like. It’s also true that there are some things that we can’t change. However, I’m betting that some of them are indeed changeable. For example, if you’re unhappy at work, it could be time to look for a new position. If you’re not happy with the way your life is going, stop doing things that make you unhappy or feel distant from the authentic YOU. There are plenty of ways to make simple shifts that can raise your vibration and fulfill your life in a way that expands you. Pay close attention to what you think and believe about yourself and your life. These things can be clues to what is and isn’t serving you. Take small steps to change, as it isn’t always easy to let go of what you’ve been used to.

Make an Intention List

It’s one thing to want greater happiness but another to actually act upon those wishes. If you want to start living a happier life, it’s imperative to set the intention first. You can do this by writing down your goals or even getting more creative with it. Try drawing what you want or recording yourself talking about what you intend to change and create.

The act of writing down things is a catalyst for real change and goes a long way for helping you stick to your newly birthed plans. Don’t think that anything is too small to add to this list. If you think about it, the intention list is a perfect place to set the stage for it to happen. You could even keep track of how many times you accomplish items on your list. This can help motivate you when you’re feeling low or give you a sense of accomplishment as time goes on.

About Kellie R. Stone

"I make no excuses for my diverse roles as a Rock Your Feminine Type Coach™ and Branding Expert, best-selling author, and crime thriller novelist. Yes, I do still chuckle a bit at the irony. I kick ass as a women’s biz coach by day and kill off vulnerable fiction characters at night. What the hell, it makes for some interesting dreams. I believe that everyone should pursue their passions no matter how out there they seem to be. One of those pure heart-fluttering passions for me has always been writing. Since I did, indeed, chase my dream of being a writer, I've published two non-fiction books in the self-development genre, co-authored an international best seller, and now I'm finally pushing my much-too-old-to-be-in-the-nest novel out the door and into the world. My whole world is empowering and I adore showing others how to live life unfiltered, whether I do that through the written word or my coaching work. I love my job!" ~Kellie R. Stone
