5 Ways To Eat Healthfully On The Go

It’s no joke that if you want to eat healthfully on the go, you will experience challenges. This is especially true if you have a busy schedule and limited options. However, planning ahead and making wise choices makes it possible for you to eat well even if you have a hectic lifestyle or never are at home. Here are some practical tips that you can use to eat nutritious foods no matter where you are.

Plan and Prep Ahead

Eat Healthfully On The GoOne of the best ways to eat healthfully on the go is to plan and prepare meals ahead of time. Plan meals that include healthy fats, fiber, protein, and lots of fruits and veggies. You can try prepping salads, soups, and wraps as they are easy to store and take with you wherever you go. When you prepare meals ahead of time you will avoid the need to eat fast food or go to vending machines.

Choose Smart Snacks

Keeping healthy snacks with you helps ward off hunger and prevent overeating later. Good snacks to include are those that have protein, fruits, veggies, granola, and nuts. All of these have great health benefits. Always be looking for snacks with a balance of protein and fiber to help keep you full and energized throughout the day. Try to avoid those sugary or highly processed snacks because they can cause energy crashes and don’t have any long-lasting satisfaction.

Make Better Fast Food Choices

While fast food might not be ideal, many restaurants offer healthful options if you know what to look for. Choose grilled meat over fried as much as you can, go for salads with lean protein, and avoid high calorie dressings or sauces. Avoid soda and opt for water instead takes away unneeded caleries and additives. Additionally, ordering smaller portions also makes a difference in the caloric department. Some fast food chains provide calorie and nutrition information so this makes it easier to pick the items that align with your dietary goals.

Stay Hydrated

Staying hydrated is important as dehydration can be devastating for health. It can also feel like hunger. Unfortunately, this false directive leads to the wrong action of eating when your not hungry. Drinking enough quality water supports your entire body and any weight loss goals. It’s unfortunate that some people aren’t aware and find themselves checking into an eating disorder clinic. Staying hydrated is a pillar for health and a balanced body plan that includes managing your weight.

Read the Labels

Making healthy choices and eating healthfully on the go is increased by taking a few minutes to simply read food labels. Avoid products with a long ingredient list filled with preservatives, artificial flavors and sugars. Instead, look for items that have quality ingredients that you trust. Do your best to get information about the food you eat while you’re out. Eat healthfully on the go as much as you can with all of the challenges.

About Kellie R. Stone

"I make no excuses for my diverse roles as a Rock Your Feminine Type Coach™ and Branding Expert, best-selling author, and crime thriller novelist. Yes, I do still chuckle a bit at the irony. I kick ass as a women’s biz coach by day and kill off vulnerable fiction characters at night. What the hell, it makes for some interesting dreams. I believe that everyone should pursue their passions no matter how out there they seem to be. One of those pure heart-fluttering passions for me has always been writing. Since I did, indeed, chase my dream of being a writer, I've published two non-fiction books in the self-development genre, co-authored an international best seller, and now I'm finally pushing my much-too-old-to-be-in-the-nest novel out the door and into the world. My whole world is empowering and I adore showing others how to live life unfiltered, whether I do that through the written word or my coaching work. I love my job!" ~Kellie R. Stone
