Are you always the bridesmaid and never the bride? Do you find yourself waiting, hoping and praying that your partner is going to ask that all-important question? Is it your turn? If you have answered yes to these questions then, perhaps, now is the time to take that next step with your partner to get married in 2017. But how do you go about doing that? Easy! I thought I would share with you some ideas on how you can take the next step in your relationship. I hope it inspires you to get things moving along.

Get Married In 2017 Tip #1: Pop the Question Yourself!

Sometimes our partners just can’t take a hint, am I right? You may have stopped at every jewelry shop to browse, perhaps, looked longingly into your partner’s eyes every time a wedding invite landed on your doorstep, but to no avail. So if you are sick of waiting and pretty sure this is the real deal, take matters into your own hands and pop the question yourself! At least you will know exactly where you stand with your partner and if 2017 could be your year.

Another great advantage of this is having the ability to choose your own ring. You could even build your own engagement ring if you wanted. How unique would that be? Take things into your own hands and make it happen! The worst thing that could happen is he or she says no. Don’t let fear get in the way. You just might put an end to his or her fears by doing it first.

Get Married In 2017 Tip #2: Make a financial plan

Let’s be honest here, weddings cost a lot of money. Truthfully, it can be as elaborate or as simple as you choose it to be, and, you can choose any budget. Unfortunately, however, the financial side of things can be a huge factor in delaying nuptials. So, why not make a financial plan yourself and discuss it with your significant other when the time is right? Decide together if you both want to get married within the next 12 months. If so, decide what style wedding suit you want and how much money will it cost? If you are not ready to share your plan just yet, you could simply start putting money aside for it.  It also helps to know if your family can help with expenses. Having a clear financial plan in place could be just the thing to initiate some action.

Get Married In 2017 Tip #3: Bring It up in Conversation

If you don’t have a head for numbers, and you really don’t want to be the one that asks, you could still set the wheels in motion by simply bringing it up in conversation. Talk about friends getting married, discuss your future and where you hope to see yourself in five or ten years time. Even be blunt and ask about how he or she feels about weddings and marriage in general. This is an important conversation to have, as you need to be clear you both want the same things for the future.

Get Married In 2017 Tip #4: Make Decisions Yourself

Finally, some people hate the thought of planning a wedding, so, if this sounds like your partner, assure him or her that you can handle the details. Start planning your day in advance and make decisions on some of the major factors like the time of year you want to wed or even the size of the wedding. Showing this initiative and ownership could be what seals the deal for your partner.
